Wexford and ZGF partnered with UC Davis to build an innovation district where companies, researchers, and students work side-by-side. My role was in leading the design of the lobby sculpture and serving on the Sacramento Arts Commission board for a series of murals.
The design of Data Delta honors the convergence of the region’s rivers. Polycarbonate topography is spray-painted with gradient and pattern that maps local agriculture. Suspended metal droplets move between the panels to quantify tributaries while also creating an ascent between floors. The path of the river weaves through the panels as a reflective centerpiece.
